Position: Construction Safety Officer
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $30.00 – $34.00 / hour
We are currently looking for a Construction Safety Officer to oversee all safety related programs and promote a culture of safety at our worksites throughout Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The successful applicant will work part time as a CSO and part time on our instillation teams in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Respond to issues relating to health, safety, environment, emergency response, performance metrics and safety management systems for site operations.
* Administer first aid services as necessary.
* Communicate safety requirements to all site personnel.
* Inspect workplaces to ensure equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety hazard to employees or the general public.
* Provide orientations to new workers/visitors to the site.
* Conduct effective site safety inspections and maintain records.
* Effectively lead and document toolbox meetings, monthly safety committee meetings, job hazard assessments, site safety audits, and shut-down unsafe work.
* Lead site safety meetings and record meeting minutes.
* Submit required daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
* Conduct investigations of accidents and near miss incidents.
* Maintain and build a culture of health and safety on site.
* Perform construction tasks on site.Experience:
* Prefer 2 years but will consider all applicants with certifications.Qualifications:
* Valid OFA (2 or 3) Occupational First Aid certification
* CSO Certificate
* Fall protection
* WHMIS Certification
* JHSC Joint Health and Safety Committee How to apply:
